The actual surgery is quite short and simple. Basically the surgeon will cut the incision under the breast and then place an air bladder inside the breast which is then filled with air from a syringe. This serves two purposes, to open and expand the breast tissue to make the augmentation easier and also to determine the correct size for each breast. The amount of cc’s or cubic centimeters is monitored for each breast as sizes and amounts may need to be different for proper fit and symmetry. Most women do have one breast larger than the other and this may also be due to chest structure abnormalities which are quite common. After the correct measurement is obtained for each breast saline implants are drawn to the correct size and are carefully inserted in each breast. The breasts are again checked for asymmetry and are then sewed up.

If silicone implants, which have just recently been made legal to everyone again, are used, they come pre-sized, so the breast implants will usually be the same for both breasts unless there is a large deviation in asymmetry requiring different cup sizes or similar. Silicone implants up until recently have been largely illegal as the implants had a tendency to break and/or leak silicone which migrates and can cause grave health problems including death. It was only allowed for women with mastectomies. Now, the FDA has determined that silicone implant manufacturers have taken enough steps in strengthening these implants that they are once again deemed to be safe. I don’t know if I would trust them after the scare reports, health problems and deaths from silicone implant leaks that were publicized just a few years back.

There are also websites that have the complete surgeries available for download. Just search for breast augmentation surgery video on Google. Don’t just enter breast or you will find some porn site or sex site (probably with Jenna Jameson on it). However you may interpret it, breast augmentation surgery is sure to be around for as long as sexy and youth is in – that means forever.
