Phentermine is quite strong and should be taken on a full stomach to avoid upset and sour stomach. It also has the ability to disrupt sleep and rest patterns and has been known to cause hyperactivity in both youths and adults. So, it is not to be taken near bed time and is best taken at the beginning of the day (follow your doctors prescribed directions). Dosage strength and amount will differ upon age, size and your doctors recommendations.
According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration – whom approved both Phentermine and Adipex-P as a prescribed drug for weight loss in the U.S.), Americans have a growing problem with obesity. Upwards of 50% or more of the population is overweight and as many as 15% are or can be considered morbidly obese. This means that they can die from their obesity if they don’t quickly implement drastic changes to their lifestyle and diet.
Whether or not one is obese, phentermine, and therefore Adipex-P, have been proven to cause a significant reduction of appetite that when equipped with a restructured and more nutritious diet (no fast food what so ever) and aerobic exercise like running (A great tip - running has been found by the AHA to be one of the best aerobic activity for weight loss and complete body health), aerobics, karate and martial arts, etc… Phentermine and Adipex can work on their own, but for visible and more lasting results and drastic changes one will require a lifestyle change. It is important to note that before one starts any rigorous physical exercise routine that they should consult their doctor and make sure that they are healthy enough prior to its undertaking. Good luck and best wishes with your weight loss.

Comments:
I have read a good bit on Adipex - has anyone here actually taken it for weight loss? I would like to get a personal opinion from someone that has tried it already and preferably someone that has had some pretty good results. I am 50 years old and have an extra 20 or 30 pounds I would like to get rid of.

I think that staying active and physically fit is the best weight loss diet out there. There is no need for these Adipex and other weight loss pills or expensive diets like the South Beach diet, Atkins, etc... Just get a good pair of sneakers for $60 and go out and start running. If you can't run then walk and slowly build up your endurance until you can run or fast walk. I don't see many obese or fat runners and they don't take these expensive diet and weightloss pills - they don't have to. The runners I know can eat anything they want and never worry about gaining any weight. In my opinion running is the ultimate weight loss solution and beats dieting any day. Besides, I meet new people every day and see new things every time I run. It is both exhilarating and very enjoyable - it's even adicting - I can't wait until my next run tomorrow. I don't know about running for a diet. I have tried aerobics for years and that is one heck of a workout. I can't imagine running being much more intense than the 30 minute aerobics class at my local Y. I have tried aerobics and all sorts of diets and can't seem to lose much weight at all. This Adipex or phentermine looks interesting. Where does one go to get it? Do you need a prescription and how much does it cost? Is it anything like that drug that caused heart attacks - phen phen or whatever its name was? I need something that works so I can see some results. Mary H. - Detroit, Michigan
